UL 142 covers steel primary, secondary and diked type atmospheric storage tanks intended for noncorrosive, stable flammable and combustible liquids that have a specific gravity not exceeding that of water in aboveground applications.
Vertical tanks take up less square footage and can be used when space is limited.
These tanks are more economical than horizontal tanks as they do not require saddles because they typically sit flat on the ground.
Options such as a cone bottom on legs to allow the fluid to be gravity fed.
I-beam suports can also be added so inspection of the bottom of the tank is simple.
Capacities up to 40,000 gallons
